Founder & Senior Editor

Karen’s professional life has centred on educating others to improve how they communicate their message. She graduated with a BA with Distinction and moved to Japan, where she taught, created ESL courses, supervised English content in a bilingual magazine, edited bilingual novels, consulted, and wrote a weekly newspaper column. Since founding Editarians, she has specialized in APA Style, assisting hundreds of clients to craft their documents such that they convey accurately and concisely what was intended. She looks forward to collaborating with clients for years to come.

Senior Editor

Erin holds a master’s degree in communication. She has worked to prepare academic manuscripts, edited theses and dissertations, and revised organizational documents. Since 2006 she has worked with Editarians, helping clients to polish their writing while retaining their sense of voice. She can often be found at home with her laptop, a cup of tea, and a cat at her side.

Associate Editor

Karen has a master’s degree and a lengthy career helping people communicate with clarity and ease. She’s worked in children’s health care as a speech-language pathologist, editor, researcher, educator, and administrator. She’s fun to work with, precise, and unashamedly enthusiastic about editing. Her specialties are academic editing and plain language in health-care communications. Karen’s other joys include hiking to windy hills overlooking water, playing with fountain pens and stationery, and hanging out with her cats and kids. She’s thrilled to join Editarians and eager to work with you and your writing.

Student Editor

Clare is a grade thirteen co-op student who will be working with Editarians from September 2023 to January 2024. For her career, she hopes to join the ranks of professional editors. She earned several English-related awards upon graduation and spends the vast majority of her free time reading and working on her own novel. Teachers and associates would describe her as a positive and dedicated person who loves to help others create their best work. Clare is excited to learn from a team of expert editors and work towards getting experience in her dream job.

Manager of Client Care and Communications

Rhonda approaches client service as a passionate and proactive advocate with a history of nurturing long-term partnerships. She has over 15 years of experience in communications, graphic design, social media strategy, marketing, project management, copywriting, and customer service. She’s a stellar collaborator and believes in the power of teamwork. When she’s not at the helm of communications, elevating our service standards, she enjoys reading both fiction and nonfiction. She has a love not just for storytelling and learning, but also for the etymology of the words and phrases used. If she’s not reading, she’s going to live music shows or trying out all the delicious restaurants that Toronto has to offer.

IT Guru

Mark has a BSc in Computer Science and has worked with numerous architectures, operating systems, and programming languages. His employers and consulting clients include small companies and multinational corporations in various countries around the world. He loves creating solutions that take the tedium out of people’s work tasks, eliminate redundant activities, and cause people to say, “Hey, I didn’t know you could do that!” Thanks to Mark, Editarians’ online collaboration has been orchestrated to hum along harmoniously (alright, we’ll stop now with the musical references).
